[Register](https://support.clubcaddie.com/browser?hsLang=en#register) October 3, 2026 # Browser - Register: Merge One Tab Into Another ## Moving all the items from one open tab onto another ##### **Overview** Two guests who started separately want to settle together. You can move all the items from one open tab onto another so they pay as one check. This is for plain item tabs at the Browser Register. The command isn't called "merge" on screen. Look for **Add All Items To Existing Order**. ##### **Merge one tab into another** 1. Click the tab you want to move items **from**, so it is the tab you are looking at. Point to **Add All Items To Existing Order**. A list of your open tabs appears beside it. 4. Click the tab you want to move all the items **to**. Point to **Add to existing order** to move **that one item** onto another open tab, or to **Add All Items to existing order** to move the whole tab, the same as the steps above. 3. Pick the tab you want to move to from the list that appears beside the option. ##### **Close the original tab** Merging empties the first tab but does not close it. It stays at the top of the register with nothing on it. 1. Check that the merge looks right on the destination tab. 2. Close the empty tab. See *Browser - Register: Close or Delete a Tab*. ##### **Common Questions** **Where is the Merge button?** There isn't one by that name. Right-click the tab and choose **Add All Items To Existing Order**. **Which tab ends up with the items?** The one you pick from the list. The tab you are looking at is the one that gets emptied, even if you right-clicked a different tab's name, so click the tab you want to empty first. **Why is the first tab still showing?** Merging moves the items and leaves the tab itself in place. Close it separately once you are happy with the merge. **Do the totals add up to the same amount?** For two tabs of regular items with no customer attached, yes. In testing, the merged tab's total was the two tabs' totals added together. The merged tab works out its own total, so a customer or discount on the destination tab can change the amount. Confirm the total on screen before taking payment. **What should I check before taking payment on the merged tab?** Look over the total, plus any discounts, tax exemptions, service charge exemptions and notes, and make sure the merged tab shows what you intend before you take payment. **Can I merge a tab into itself?** No. The list includes the tab you are on, but it is not a valid choice. **Can I merge into a tab that has been paid or closed?** No. The destination has to still be open. **Can I merge more than two tabs?** Repeat the steps, moving each tab in turn onto the one you want to keep. **Can I move just one item instead of the whole tab?** Yes.
