Browser - Sales: View an Order Receipt

Finding and reading an order's receipt in sales history

You need to check what was on an order — what was rung in, what it came to, who served it. Every order in Sales keeps its receipt, and you can open it at any time.

Opening the receipt
  1. Go to Sales.
  2. Find the order in the list. The Search box and the date, payment method and employee filters narrow it down.
  3. Double-click the row — or use the row's action menu and choose Receipt.

The receipt opens on screen.

What the receipt shows

Your facility's name, address and phone sit at the top, followed by:

Orders with a discount, a tip or more than one payment show extra lines for those.

The buttons along the bottom

The open receipt has a row of buttons: Void, Close, PDF, Print, Select Printer and Email.

Close closes the receipt.

Print, Select Printer, PDF and Email are the routes for issuing the receipt again. Their behaviour is not covered here — check with your manager or raise a support ticket before relying on them for a guest.

Void voids the order. It is a different task from looking at a receipt — see the voiding article before using it.

Unpaid orders have receipts too

You do not have to wait until an order is paid. An order still showing Pending opens its receipt in the same way, which is useful for checking a tab before settling it.

Common Questions

Where do I find an old receipt?

In Sales. Find the order and double-click the row.

Is there a faster way than the action menu?

Yes — double-clicking the row opens the receipt directly.

Can I get the receipt for an order that has not been paid?

Yes. Orders showing Pending open the same way.

Can I send or print the receipt from here?

There are Print, Select Printer, PDF and Email buttons on the receipt. This article covers finding and reading a receipt only — it does not cover what those buttons do.

Why is the customer name blank?

The order was rung in without a customer attached, so there is nothing to show.

What is the Void button doing here?

It voids the order — a separate task from re-issuing a receipt. Check the voiding article first.
