Browser - Settings : Inventory Modifier Groups

Inventory Modifier Groups is where you build and manage modifier sets attached to F&B items — things like "side choice," "beverage size," or "add-on toppings." The page handles two related jobs: defining the modifier categories themselves (with their min/max selection rules and upcharge logic), and managing the individual menu options that live inside each category.

Step-by-Step: Get to Inventory Modifier Groups

Step 1: Settings → Inventory Center.

Step 2: Click the Inventory Modifier Groups tab (2nd tab from the left).

How the page is organized

Two tiers in the table:

  • Modifier Category rows (the group level) — for example, "BYO Burger" or "Pizza Toppings." Show Min and Max selection counts plus a Select Item button.
  • Menu Option rows (individual choices) — under BYO Burger you'd see House Sauce, Lettuce, Onion, Tomato. Each shows Default Item, [No/Extra/On Side] Available, Extra Selling Price, plus Edit and Delete buttons.

Above the table is an inline-add row for adding new menu options. To the right is a Manage Category button for working with the categories themselves.

Add a new menu option to a category

Step 1: In the inline-add row, pick the Modifier Category from the dropdown.

Step 2: Type the Menu Option name.

Step 3: Enter the Selling Price.

Step 4: Toggle Default Item ON if this should be pre-selected on the order.

Step 5: Toggle [No/Extra/On Side] Available ON to let staff mark the modifier as No / Extra / On Side at the register.

Step 6: Enter the Extra Price (the upcharge for going "Extra").

Step 7: Set the Display Sequence (controls display order — default 0).

Step 8: Click Create (black) to add the row, or Clear (red outline) to reset the entry row.

Edit a menu option (inline)

Editing happens inline — no modal pops up.

Step 1: In the Action column, click Edit (black).

Step 2: The row's fields turn into editable inputs and toggles. Edit/Delete buttons are replaced with Save and Cancel.

Step 3: Make your changes.

Step 4: Click Save to commit, or Cancel to discard.

Manage Categories — the central settings surface

The category-level settings — name, min/max selection limits, upcharge rules, OnDemand visibility — live in the Manage Category modal.

Step 1: Click Manage Category (top-right green).

Step 2: The COMMON MODIFIER CATEGORY modal opens. The table has 8 columns:

  • Modifier Category — group name
  • Min Options Limit — minimum number of options the customer must pick
  • Max Options Limit — maximum allowed
  • Upcharge Amount — currency value for the upcharge
  • Upcharge After Selections — number of selections after which the upcharge kicks in
  • Available For OnDemand — toggle controlling whether the modifier shows in the OnDemand interface
  • Display Sequence — order
  • Action — 3-dot menu

Step 3: Click ADD MODIFIER CATEGORY (top-right green) to create a new category, or use the per-row Action menu to edit/delete existing ones.

TIP: Set Min Options Limit to 1 or higher when a category is required ("Bun Type" must have a selection). Use 0 when it's optional. Use Upcharge After Selections to give customers, say, 2 free toppings before charging extra for additional ones.

Attach a category to specific menu items

Step 1: On the main Inventory Modifier Groups page, click Select Item in the Action column for the Modifier Category you want to attach.

Step 2: The SELECT ITEMS modal opens with two sub-tabs:

  • Inventory List — pick from existing inventory items (default tab)
  • Add Inventory — create a brand-new inventory item to attach

Step 3: Use the search row to narrow the list. The 11-column table shows Department, Sub Department, Category, Inventory Type, Item, SKU, Vendor, Stock(Unit), Item Cost, Sale Price, Floor Price.

Step 4: Select the items you want to attach to this modifier category and confirm.

Who uses this and when

F&B managers, pro shop managers, and admins maintaining the inventory catalog. Use it during initial menu setup, when seasonal menu changes happen, when modifier pricing needs adjustment, or when attaching modifier sets to a new menu item.
