Build a one day holiday rate that is the only rate staff can pick on that date

Overview

Thanksgiving morning is one of your busiest tee sheets of the year, and it should not sell at your everyday Thursday price. A holiday rate is the same round at a different price, so the quickest way to build one is to copy the rate it is based on and change the copy. With Override All RackRates turned on, the holiday rate becomes the only rack rate staff can pick on that date for that number of holes.

Nothing here is locked in. If a setting comes out wrong, open the rate and edit it.

Copy the rate you are basing it on
  1. Go to Settings and open RACK Rate Management.
  2. Find the rate closest to the one you want, usually your normal 18 hole walking rate.
  3. Click the menu on its row and choose Copy.
  4. No form opens. Club Caddie saves the copy straight away and shows a Success! message. Click OK.

A new row appears in the list with the same settings and green fee as the original. Its full name is the original name with Copy on the end. The Rack Name column shows the start of each name, so hover over a name to read it in full.

Turn the copy into the holiday rate
  1. Click the menu on the copy's row and choose Edit. The panel header reads ADD RACK RATE VIEW even though you are editing.
  2. Change Rack Name to something staff will recognize, such as Thanksgiving 18.
  3. Set Start Date and End Date both to the holiday.
  4. In Day of the Week, leave only the holiday's weekday ticked.
  5. Set Booking Window to at least the number of days between today and the holiday. For a Thanksgiving rate built in September, that is about 90. At 0, the rate saves and staff can pick it on the holiday itself, but not before.
  6. Turn on Override All RackRates. On that day, this rate replaces your other rack rates for the same number of holes, so nobody books the everyday price by accident.
  7. Page one has no Save button, only Close and Next. Click Next.
  8. On BUILD GREEN FEE PACKAGE, the green fee from the rate you copied is already listed. Click Save.

The message Update Success ! confirms it and clears itself. There is nothing to click. The list refreshes on its own.

Check it on the tee sheet

Open the Tee Sheet, go to the holiday, and click an open tee time with the same number of holes as your rate. The rate list now holds one option, your holiday rate, already selected.

Common Questions

How far ahead can staff book the holiday rate?

Booking Window decides that. At 0, the rate only appears on the holiday itself. Edit the rate, raise Booking Window to cover the days between now and the holiday, then Next and Save.

How do I make the holiday rate the only option that day?

Open the rate with Edit and check that Override All RackRates is on, and that the holiday date is inside the rate's Booking Window. Then Next and Save.

How do I save changes on the first page?

You save them from page two. Page one only has Close and Next, so click Next, then Save.
