Hardware: Configuring A Clover Go Device With Club Caddie
Article Content: This article contains step-by-step instructions on how to configure a Clover Go device in Club Caddie and pair it to an iPad to process card transactions
Step-by-Step:
Step 1: Create a terminal for Clover Go in Club Caddie:
In Club Caddie, create a new terminal that will be dedicated to the Clover Go device. This terminal will be the one the Clover Go uses when connecting to Club Caddie to process transactions. Click here for instructions on how to create a new terminal.
Step 2: Enter terminal-specific CardConnect credentials:
Go to Settings > 3P integration Settings section, then open the terminal-specific CardConnect settings for the Clover Go terminal.
In this screen, complete the following fields using the values from the Main Account CardConnect settings page:
Merchant ID, Merchant Name, CardPointe Username, CardPointe Password, Authorization Key, and ACH Merchant ID.
Copy and paste each value into the corresponding terminal-specific field and save your changes.
Step 3: Enable production and tip options:
In the same terminal-specific CardConnect settings page, enable the checkboxes for Is Production and Tip on Device.
This ensures the Clover Go processes live transactions and allows tips to be entered on the device.
Step 4: Configure the Clover Go device name and ID:
Still in the terminal-specific CardConnect settings, set the Clover Go Device Name to Clover_Go_xxxxxx and the Clover Go Device ID to xxxxxx, where “xxxxxx” is the last six digits of the Clover Go serial number.
For example: Clover Go Device Name: Clover_Go_123456 and Clover Go Device ID: 123456. Save your settings.
Step 5: Prepare the Clover Go device and iPad:
Turn on the Clover Go device. On the iPad, open the Club Caddie app and log in using the Clover Go terminal you created. Add any item to the register and tap Pay to move to the payment screen.
Step 6: Select Clover Card External and start connection:
On the payment screen, select the payment option Clover Card External. When the Card Reader Status window appears and shows Device Disconnected, tap Connect. Then, on the Clover Go device, press and hold the green button on the side until a blinking blue light appears to put the device into pairing mode.
Step 7: Choose the Clover Go device and enter pairing code:
On the Card Reader Status window on the iPad, tap Connect again if needed, then select the correct Clover Go device from the list, shown as Clover_Go_xxxxxx (the last six digits of its serial number). For example, Clover_Go_123456. When the pairing prompt appears on the iPad, enter the pairing code, which is the same last six digits of the Clover Go serial number (e.g., Serial: Clover_Go_123456, Pairing Code: 123456).
Step 8: Complete and confirm a test transaction:
Allow the Clover Go to finish connecting. Once connected, complete the transaction you started and confirm in the Club Caddie Sales module that it processed successfully with the operator. After this, the Clover Go device will remain paired with that terminal for future transactions.
