Events: Decimal Limit On Menu Items And Add-Ons

Article Contents: How Club Caddie limits event menu items and add-ons to two decimal places to prevent rounding errors.

When you're building out an event menu or adding items to an event, Club Caddie limits price and quantity inputs to two decimal places. This prevents rounding problems that could throw off your event totals — especially on large orders where a small decimal error adds up fast.

Where This Applies

The two-decimal limit applies any time you enter a price or quantity in the following tabs within an event record:

  • Menu tab — when adding food and beverage items to the event
  • Add Ons tab — when adding non-food items like golf balls or special setup charges
What You'll Notice

If you try to enter more than two decimal places in a price or quantity field, the system automatically rounds to two decimal places. You don't need to do anything differently — just be aware that entries like "$12.999" will round to "$13.00."

Notes
  • This change applies to new entries going forward. Existing event line items are not affected unless you edit them.
  • This limit applies to both the Menu tab and the Add Ons tab within an event record.
  • It does not affect tee time rates or register items — only event-level pricing inputs.

Troubleshooting
  • Totals look off on an existing event — check if any line items have legacy values with more than two decimal places. Re-entering the amount will apply the new limit.
