F&B App : Opening Tabs

Article Contents: Learn the three ways to open a tab in the F&B app and when to use each method.

Step-by-Step:

Step 1: From the F&B home screen, open a tab using the method that fits your service:

(1) Tap Tables (bottom left navigation) to open a tab assigned to a specific table (best for table service).

(2) Tap Quick Tab (top middle of the screen) to open a new numbered tab with no table and no customer info (best for quick service, bar orders, and walk-ups).

(3) Tap the Plus (+) button (top middle of the screen) to search by customer name, phone, email, or member ID, then select an existing customer or create a new profile (best for members or known customers).

Step 2: If you opened from Tables, tap an available table on the floor plan (for example, “S2” or “B”). A new tab opens immediately and is linked to that table.

Step 3: If you used Quick Tab, start adding items immediately. The system assigns a sequential tab number (for example, “Tab #1234”) and does not require a table or customer.

Step 4: If you used the Plus (+) button to attach a customer (or you used Card Tab if enabled at your facility), confirm you selected the correct person before adding items. This ensures the tab is linked to the right member/customer record.




Step 5: Continue taking the order by adding items to the tab, then send items as needed (for example, to the kitchen).

When choosing a method, use these quick guidelines:
Use Tables when you need table tracking and section organization.
Use Quick Tab when there is no table (snack bar, bar guests not seated, walk-ups, to-go).
Use the Plus (+) customer search when you need the tab tied to a specific member/customer.

 

Example Scenario:
Your snack bar gets a rush after the turn, and you need to move quickly. You tap Quick Tab to start a to-go order immediately, add items, and send them to the kitchen. A member walks up next and asks to charge to their account, so you use Card Tab to scan their member card and confirm their name before adding items. Later, you tap Open Tickets to switch between the two tabs and close each one as soon as payment is completed to keep the list clean.
