F&B App : Process Payments
Article Contents: Learn how to accept different types of payments in the F&B app.
Payment button and receipt options may vary by setup. Follow the on-screen prompts to finalize payment and close the tab.
Step-by-Step:
Step 1: Tap Open Tickets and select the tab you want to close. Review the balance due, then tap Pay.
Step 2: On the payment method screen, choose how the guest is paying (Cash, Card, membership ID etc.).
Step 3: For cash payments, tap Cash, enter the amount received (for example, enter 70.00 if the guest gives you $70), then select Pay. The system calculates the change due.
Step 4: For credit card payments, tap the card option used at your facility (commonly Card External for a Clover Go device).
Process the card payment on the Clover Go device (tap/insert/swipe) and follow the prompts until the device shows approval.
If prompted on the iPad, have the guest add a tip and sign (if required), then confirm to finalize the payment.
Step 5: Select a receipt option (Print, Email, or Close). Once completed, the tab closes and no longer appears as unpaid in Open Tickets.
Other Payment Methods
Member Charge: Tap Pay, select Membership ID. System automatically shows selected member if customer was already assigned to tab, or prompts to search for member. [NEED MORE INFO - confirm if member card scanning is available or manual entry only]. Charge posts to member's account.
Charge to Event: Tap Pay, select Event Charge, You can either search for the event by name in the search bar, or select the magnifying glass to view the list of events.

Split Payment (Multiple Payment Methods on One Tab): Tap Pay, select first payment method (e.g., Cash), enter partial amount (e.g., $50 of $100 total), system calculates remaining balance ($50), select second payment method (e.g., Card External), process card for remaining $50. Both payments complete and tab closes.

The Done button returns to PIN screen (does NOT close the tab or process payment). The Pay button initiates payment process and closes the tab when payment complete.
Example Scenario:
A guest pays cash for a $37.50 snack bar tab. You open the ticket, tap Pay, choose Cash, enter 50.00, and the system shows $12.50 change due. Later, a dining guest pays by card, so you tap Pay, choose the Clover Go card option, and the guest completes the payment on the device. After they add a tip on the iPad and you select a receipt option, the ticket closes.
