F&B App : Using Modifiers
Article Contents: This article explains how to select, review, and edit modifiers when adding items to tabs in the F&B app.
Modifiers display directly beneath the item on the same screen (no pop-ups), and are arranged horizontally to save space.
Step-by-Step:
Step 1: Open the F&B app and select the tab you’re adding items to.
Step 2: Tap an item on the menu. Review the modifier options that appear directly beneath the item (on the same screen).
Step 3: Select any required modifiers (marked with a red asterisk *). If required modifiers are missing, the item will stay outlined in red until you complete the required selections.
Add any optional modifiers as needed based on the guest’s request. Optional modifiers can be skipped if the guest does not need changes.
Step 4: Watch for modifier upcharges shown next to modifier options. If a modifier has no additional charge, it will list the modifier name with no price displayed.
Step 5: Review the item on the right side of the screen to confirm the selected modifiers (and any added cost) are listed correctly with the order.
Step 6: To edit modifiers after the item is added, tap the item on the right side of the screen. Once you tab the item, the modifiers will appear on the left again to update your selections.

Example Scenario:
A guest orders Prime Rib and wants it cooked medium rare. The server taps Prime Rib, then selects the required meat temperature modifier (marked with a red asterisk) to clear the red outline. The guest also asks to remove bell peppers and add extra jalapeños on a topping group, so the server selects those optional modifiers. The guest upgrades to onion rings as a side, and the app displays the $2 upcharge (plus $0.50 for “extra” if selected). Before sending to the kitchen, the server taps the item in the order summary to confirm all modifiers are correct.
