Article Contents: This Article Contains Step-By-Step Instructions On How To Edit An Existing Form And Create A New Form In Elementor, Including How To Add, Remove, And Configure Fields.
Step-by-Step:
Step 1: Open the page in Elementor:
From the WordPress dashboard, click Pages, then All Pages. Hover over the page that contains (or will contain) your form and click Edit with Elementor. Wait for the Elementor editor to load.
Step 2: Locate and select an existing form:
In the Elementor editor, scroll down the page until you see the form section you want to edit. Hover over the form until you see a blue outline, then click anywhere inside the form. The form’s settings will open in the left sidebar under the Content tab.
Step 3: Edit existing form fields:
In the Content tab, you will see a list of existing fields (such as Name, Email, Message). Click a field to edit it. Update the Label (what users see), Placeholder (text inside the input before typing), Required toggle (on/off), and Type (text, email, textarea, select, checkbox, etc.) as needed.
Step 4: Add or remove form fields:
To add a new field, click the + Add Item button at the bottom of the field list and choose the field type you want. To remove a field, hover over it in the list and click the X icon. Use this to keep your form simple and only collect the information you need.
Step 5: Create a new section for a new form (optional):
If you want to build a new form from scratch, scroll to where you want the form to appear and click the red + button to add a new section. Choose a one-column layout to keep the form centered and easy to read.
Step 6: Add the Form widget for a new form:
In the left Elementor panel, use the search bar and type Form. Drag the Form widget into your new section. If you do not see the Form widget, you may need Elementor Pro or a form plugin (such as Forminator) that integrates with Elementor; in that case, you can also insert a shortcode widget for plugin-based forms.
Step 7: Configure fields for the new form:
By default, a new Elementor form includes fields like Name, Email, and Message. Click each field to rename or modify it. Use Add Item to include additional field types such as Phone, Dropdown, Checkboxes, Radio buttons, File upload, or Date/Time pickers, depending on what information you want to collect.
