MARKETING: PART 6 - USE HISTORY AND UNDO/REDO IN ELEMENTOR

Article Contents: This Article Contains Step-By-Step Instructions On How To Use Elementor’s History Panel, Revisions, And Undo/Redo Shortcuts To Go Back To Earlier Versions Of Your Page.

Step-by-Step:

Step 1: Open the History panel:
In the Elementor editor, look at the top left corner of the screen and click the History icon (it looks like a clock or circular arrow). A History panel will slide out on the left side, showing two tabs: Actions and Revisions.

Step 2: Understand the Actions tab:
Click the Actions tab if it is not already selected. This tab lists every change made during your current editing session, such as adding or deleting widgets, changing text, or adjusting layout and styling.

In the Actions tab, scroll through the list of actions. Click any item in the list to jump the page back to that point in time instantly. To move forward again, click a newer action in the list. Remember, Actions only track changes from your current session; if you close or refresh the editor, this list resets.

Step 3: Open the Revisions tab:
In the History panel, click the Revisions tab. Here you will see a list of saved versions of the page, each created when someone clicked the green Update button.

Step 4: Preview and restore a revision:
In the Revisions tab, click on a revision entry to preview that version of the page in the editor. Each revision shows the date, time, and username of the person who saved it. If you want to use that version, click Apply to restore it. Restoring a revision replaces your current content, so preview carefully before applying.

For small, recent changes, use keyboard shortcuts instead of opening the History panel. Press Ctrl + Z (Windows) or Cmd + Z (Mac) to Undo. Press Ctrl + Y (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Z (Mac) to Redo. You can also click the Undo and Redo icons at the bottom of the Elementor sidebar.

Step 6:
Save your final version:
After you finish using Actions, Revisions, or Undo/Redo to get the page how you want it, click the green Update button in the bottom-left corner to save your current design as the latest revision. Use the eye (Preview) icon to confirm everything looks correct before leaving the editor.
