Members : Assign Member Classes
Assign a membership class to a member from the Customers module
Article Contents: This article gives step-by-step instructions on how to assign a member class to a member on the Desktop app.
Which route should I use?
- Selling a membership or class pass to someone at the counter, on Desktop — use the Register: TOOLS → Membership / Pass Sale. It handles the class and the payment on one screen, and works even for someone who isn't a customer yet. See Register : Selling a Membership or Class Pass.
- Adding a class to an existing member without taking payment right now — use the Customers route below.
- Billing the class to a charge account — use the Customers route below.
Step-By-Step: Step 1: Select the CUSTOMERS module from the module navigation menu. Here you will see a list of all the customers.

Step 2: Click on the Customers tab. Then select the customer you wish to assign a class.

Step 3: Under the General tab, click on the Member Info tab. Then select the class from the drop-down next to Membership Class.

Step 4: The system opens a Membership Class window containing Effective Date and Expiration Date, plus the option to bill the class to a Charge Account.

Step 5: A newly assigned member class will now show in the Member Classes List section. Click on the Save button to save the changes for the customer.
For more on expiration dates, bill till dates and charge accounts, see [Members : Membership and Billing Setup](https://support.clubcaddie.com/members-membership-and-billing-setup).

Taking payment for the class
If you need to take a payment for the class you just assigned, the route depends on your surface:
On Desktop, you have two options. Register → TOOLS → Membership / Pass Sale can assign the class and take payment in a single step — see Register : Selling a Membership or Class Pass. You can also take payment separately: go to the Register module, then select Membership Payment under the TOOLS section — see Register : Membership Payment for those steps.
