Members: Setting Up Auto-Pay
Save a card or bank account so your club can bill your membership automatically
Auto-Pay lets you save a card or bank account in the Member Portal so your club can charge your membership dues automatically instead of you paying each invoice by hand. Once you have a payment method saved, your club charges it on the schedule your club has set up — you can see that schedule on the Auto-Pay screen itself (see When will I be charged? below).
Before you start: log into the Member Portal
Auto-Pay is part of your club's Member Portal, not the Club Caddie software your golf course staff uses. If you haven't logged in before:
- Go to your club's Member Portal link (your club provides this — usually from their website or a welcome email).
- If you don't have a password yet, select Forgot Password and enter the email address or membership ID on file to receive a reset email.
- Log in with your email address and password.
Full steps: search this knowledge base for Setting Up and Logging Into the Member Portal.
Add a credit or debit card
- Once logged in, select Set Up Auto-Pay from the left-hand navigation menu.
- Select the Add New Card tab along the top of the page.
- Enter the name on the card, card number, expiration date, CVV code, billing address, and phone number, and choose whether it's a Credit or Debit card.
- Select Add this Card to Auto Pay.
Your club's payment processor determines exactly how the card-number field behaves — some clubs use a secure card-entry box instead of a plain text field. Either way, the required fields (name, expiration, address, phone) are the same.
Add an ACH bank account
- From Set Up Auto-Pay, select the Add ACH Details tab.
- Check Business Account if the account belongs to a business, not an individual.
- Enter the account holder's name, routing number, bank account number, and billing address (city, state, country, zip).
- Choose Checking or Savings.
- Select Add Account.
Switch or remove your Auto-Pay method
To switch which card or account gets charged: add the new card or ACH account using the steps above. The most recently added payment method is set as your default and is generally the one your club charges. To make sure only the new method gets used going forward, we recommend removing the old card or ACH account (see below) once the new one is saved.
To remove a saved card or ACH account: on the Set Up Auto-Pay page, find it under Saved Wallets and select Remove Card (or Remove ACH Account). You'll be asked to confirm before it's removed.
To edit a saved card's Credit/Debit designation: select Edit Card next to it under Saved Wallets. ACH accounts don't have an edit option — remove and re-add instead.
When will I be charged?
Every club sets its own billing schedule, so Club Caddie doesn't display one fixed date to all members. Check the Billing Policy note shown directly on your Set Up Auto-Pay page, under Saved Wallets — your club fills this in, and it's the most accurate answer for your account specifically. If nothing is shown there, contact your club.
Common Questions
Q: Do I have to choose either a card or ACH — can I have both saved?
A: No — you can save both. The Saved Wallets list holds more than one card and ACH account at once. The one you added most recently is set as the default and is generally the one used for Auto-Pay — if you're switching methods, removing the old one is the clearest way to make sure only the new one is charged.
Q: My card won't save — what should I check?
A: Double-check the card number, expiration date, and CVV are entered exactly as printed, and that your billing address and phone number match what's on file with your card issuer. If it still won't save, contact your club — they may need to check your account or payment setup on their end.
Q: Will I still get an invoice if I'm on Auto-Pay?
A: This article doesn't cover invoice delivery — check with your club, since invoicing and statement settings are configured per club.
Q: Can I turn off Auto-Pay entirely once I've added a payment method?
A: Removing your saved card or ACH account (see above) removes it from Auto-Pay. Whether your club then expects manual payment or something else happens on their end isn't something this article can confirm — check with your club if you're relying on this.
