Hardware - Setup Guide to Cloud Printing
Article Contents:
This
article contains a step-by-step guide on how to setup your cloud printer.
Follow
the step-by-step guide below to set up your Ethernet printer and configure the
Auto-print functionality. Please note that you will need a compatible Star
Micronics printer with the Ethernet module as Auto-print does not work via
Bluetooth connection.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Step 1: Make
sure that the printer is turned OFF. Then, plug
the power cord of the printer into a power outlet and an Ethernet cable into
the Ethernet port located on the back of the printer.
Step 2: While
turning the printer ON, simultaneously hold down the FEED button on the front
of the printer for five seconds. The
printer will print two “receipts,” and you’ll see an IP address at the bottom
of the second receipt.
Step 3: Open
a web browser and type the IP address from the receipt into the URL field.
Google Chrome or Firefox works best!
You’ll
be redirected to the Star Intelligent Network Utility page. Click on LOGIN under SYSTEM ACCESS.
Step 4: Login
using the credentials below.
The username and password will never change.
Username: root
Password: public
Step 5: Now, navigate to the POS and select
Settings, Register Settings, and then the
Printer tab. Click Add P
rinter, enter information in pop-up window, then select
Save.
Step 6: Then, copy the URL from the top by clicking the Copy URL button.
Step 7: Go back to the Star Intelligent Network Utility page and click on CloudPRNT located in the left-hand column.
Step 8: Enable CloudPRNT Service, enter the POS URL you copied in the Server URL field, and set Polling time (optional, default is 5 sec), then hit Submit.
Step 9: Save
and Restart the device.
