How to change the IP settings on a PAX S300 card reader.

This article shows how to change the IP settings on a PAX S300 card reader.

Step-by-Step:  

Step 1: First press the 1 and the F buttons simultaneously on the credit card machine. This will then display a password prompt screen. The default password for the card reader will be 717777. Enter that password and then hit the green button on the card reader.

Step 2:This will bring up the main menu. From there press the down arrow on the touch screen once and you should see the "Communication" setting. Press that button, which will then bring up another password prompt screen. The password will be the same as the first one you entered. 717777.

Step 3: Now you should be at the communication Options screen. From there please press the down arrow on the touch screen two times. Now you should see the setting "Lan Parameters". Go ahead and click that.

Step 4:This will bring you to the Lan Parameters section. First, click on Lan Type and then click on static. After doing that, it should take you back to the Lan Parameters settings.

Step 5:Next click on IP address and input the IP address of the router and then hit the green arrow on the card reader.

Step 6:You should now be back at the Lan Parameters screen once again. Now click on Subnet mask and plug in the correct subnet mask and then hit the green arrow when finished.

Step 7:You will now be at the Lan Parameters screen again. Please click on GateWay IP and plug in the correct info and press the green button again.

Step 8:Now you will be back to the LAN parameters screen. From there, on the touch screen, please press the down arrow one time and you will now see four buttons. 

1. DNS mode (Change this setting to static)
2. DNS IP (Plug in the proper settings)
3. DNS IP 2 (Plugin the proper settings)
4. Ping (You can ignore this setting)

Once this is completed, the card reader should then display POS Online at the bottom of the screen.
