Register Settings: Loyalty Points - Customers With Specific Classes
Class based loyalty earning, including how sub-members earn through the primary member's class
Learn how to control which customers earn loyalty points by marking specific customer classes as loyalty eligible.
Step-by-Step:
Step 1: Go to Settings, then open the Class Management section.

Step 2: Find the Eligible for Loyalty column.

Step 3: Check the box (or toggle on) for each class that should earn loyalty points. Click Action, Edit Class. Leave the loyalty eligibility unchecked for any classes that should not earn loyalty points.

Step 4: Click Save to apply your changes.

Step 5: Test the behavior by ringing up a sale: customers with at least one eligible class should earn points based on your item loyalty rules.

If a customer earns zero points unexpectedly, confirm they have at least one class marked as Eligible for Loyalty in Class Management.
How sub-members earn points
A sub-member does not always carry a loyalty eligible class of their own. When that happens, the system checks the primary member on the account. If at least one of the primary member's classes is eligible for loyalty, the sub-member earns points on their purchase, and the points go onto the sub-member's own loyalty balance, not the primary member's.
This only applies when your loyalty program is set to the specific classes method described in this article. If your club awards loyalty to all customers, every customer earns regardless of class, and this rule never comes into play.
Example Scenario: Your club offers loyalty points only to "Members" and "League Players," but not to "Public Guests." You turn on Eligible for Loyalty for the Members and League Players classes and save. After that, a member buying an item with loyalty configured earns points automatically. A public guest buying the same item earns zero points, because they do not have any eligible class.
Common Questions
Why is a sub-member earning points when their own class isn't eligible?
Because at least one of their primary member's classes is. Sub-members inherit loyalty eligibility from the primary member on the account when their own classes do not qualify. The points still land on the sub-member's own balance.
A customer earned zero points on a sale. What should I check?
Open Class Management and confirm the customer has at least one class marked Eligible for Loyalty. For a sub-member, also check the primary member's classes.
